Biofeedback is a system which uses electronic sensors to give you immediate feedback about what is going on in your body. This technology dates back to the 1970s, and is still being researched today as the benefits become more and more widely well known and the machines become more sophisticated.
Our bodies naturally want to stay in a state of balance and a lot of this is achieved unconsciously. Biofeedback will tell you which parts in your body are not in balance.
The INDIGO Biofeedback System will:
- help you to manage and retrain stress patterns;
- educate you on the stresses that are affecting you
- empower you to make lifestyle changes
- support your improvement towards overall health and well being.
With this knowledge you can help your body get back into balance and so feel well again.
Today biofeedback is used by many different healthcare professionals including physicians, dentists, psychologists, nurses, physical therapist and addiction specialists.
Although there are six types of biofeedback, many machines on the market today only feature one or two of them. The Indigo Biofeedback System features all six and so will provide you with the best possible information about what is going on in your body.
Medical research shows that biofeedback can help improve the following conditions:
- Autoimmune conditions
- High blood pressure
- Chronic pain
- Anorexia nervosa
- Learning disabilities
- Muscle spasms
- Motion sickness
Biofeedback therapy can help to optimize performance in sports participants in the folllowing ways:
- Ability to relax more quickly and improved sleep
- Reduction of stress, tenseness and nervousness
- Improved general health and general sense of well being
- Reduction of anger, fear, apprehension and gloominess
- Heightened muscle mobility, coordination, flexibility and sport performance
- Enhanced mental clarity, memory and improved attention span
- Decreased pain/headaches
How does the INDIGO System work for me.
The INDIGO System uses five comfortable straps with sensors that measure Electro Dermal Response on the wrists, ankles and forehead. These subtle changes of moisture and temperature on the skin measure the resonance of the 11000 + signatures against the recognised norm to identify where the stresses in the body electric are.
What does a typical Biofeedback session look like?
The first telephone or face to face consultation is free, and will usually be a discussion to discover exactly how the INDIGO system can support you on your path to wellness. Next, an appointment is made to complete the client profile; run the first assessment and also the first body electric training session. (please allow at least 2 hours for this session).
Follow up sessions are agreed and can be up to 90 minutes long; they can be face to face or distance sessions depending on the client needs. There will always be a follow up phone call or email the next day after a session to discuss how the client is feeling. Bio feedback sessions are a true partnership towards gaining the wellness and fitness level that you want to achieve.
